The first exhibition was held in 1978 in the School of Commerce (now Cork College of Commerce), through the support of its then Principal, Mr. Jerry Dunne, one of the founding members of the Cork Adult Education Council. In 1985, the exhibition moved to the City Hall, and has been held there every September since then, thanks to the continued support of Cork City Council
The Adult Education & learning exhibition takes place in City Hall annually over two or three days during the two week peirod spaning last week in August and the first week in September. Over 60 exhibitors take part and this year there is also be a careers guidance counselling element to the exhibition.
The exhibition is open to any group or individual offering opportunities for adult learning, training, and career development in the Greater Cork area, including languages, hobbies, and online courses.
