Cork Adult Education Council

The objectives of the Cork Adult Education Council are:
1. To help promote and co-ordinate the work of the various statutory, commercial and voluntary organizations in Cork.
2. To act as a reference centre for those seeking information on learning opportunities.
3. To help assess the adult education needs in Cork and bring those to the attention of the various relevant bodies.

Membership is open to any society, group or organization involved in adult learning.
An executive committee is appointed at our annual general meeting to organize the various activities for the year. Individuals interested in becoming involved are welcome to attend the AGM. Dates for this will be published on our Facebook page. 

The Retired People's Network
Retired People's The Retired People's Network was formed by the Cork Adult Education Council in 1988. Its purpose is to provide a wide range of classes, courses, and activities for older people in Cork. It seeks to encourage a positive attitude to retirement by organising learning opportunities in the Cork area. Some classes organised in association with the Cork ETB, (formerly the City of Cork VEC) have included art, woodwork, Irish language, Tai Chi, computers and much more. The Network also organises social and leisure activities such as a monthly coffee mornings, and coach trips around the country.
