Cork Adult Education & Training Exhibition 2017

The Adult Education & Training Exhibition takes place in City Hall on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th September. It is open to the public from 4-8 p.m. on the first day and 1-8 p.m. on the second. Admission is free.

Organised by Cork Adult Education Council the exhibition is open to any group or organisation offering classes or courses or activities for adults in Cork.

A wide variety of exhibitors give people the opportunity to meet education providers face to face rather than just engaging on-line. So, whether you are a school leaver looking to pursue educational opportunities, or you're looking for work opportunities or a career change or whether you're looking to make use of leisure time there will be something of benefit for you at the exhibition. From degree to diploma to short term courses there is a wide variety of options open to you.

Organisations that will exhibit include all the main statutory providers such as Cork Community Schools, CIT, ETB, UCC. There will also be a wide choice of courses provided by commercial groups and a number of Dublin based organisations will also attend. If you would you like to take up some learning opportunity this year then the exhibition may be the place to come to see what is available. It may be a degree or diploma course which can lead to enhanced career opportunities or perhaps a short-term learning activity for personal development.

Many cultural and voluntary groups will also be showcasing at the exhibition, offering a range of courses in hobbies, languages and special interest, for e.g astronomy, genealogy, meditation, languages, computers, alternative health.

Chairperson Richard T. Cooke commented: 'We're always learning and we learn for many reasons whether we're learning a new hobby for the sheer enjoyment of it or whether we return to education to enhance our work opportunities or for a career change or simply to keep our brains active. And it's never too late to start learning something new. In fact, the perfect time for learning is right now because there're so many learning opportunities for people and there is such a wide variety of options open to them. The Adult Education & Training Exhibition is a hands-on Exhibition where people will be able to see the wonderful options available and be able to talk to the education providers face to face'.

As part of the exhibition, demonstrations will be held by some of the groups exhibiting. There will also be a series of workshops including one presented by Senator Alice Mary Higgins.
